Our weekly reading group is just beginning the first book in C.S. Lewis’s Chronicle of Narnia series, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” Four adventurous siblings—Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie—step through a wardrobe door and into the land of Narnia, a land frozen in eternal winter and enslaved by the power of the White Witch. But when almost all hope is lost, the return of the Great Lion, Aslan, signals a great change . . . and a great sacrifice.

The Next Chapter Book Club is a community-based book club program for adults with developmental disabilities. Members might read at different levels, but they all love books for the same reason most people do: they enjoy being transported to different worlds where they meet interesting characters and learn about exciting new things. Taking that journey with a group of friends makes it even more fun.
