It’s important to be relaxed and comfortable for this class. Participants can choose to sit on a chair or on the floor. If you want to sit on the floor, bring a yoga mat or cushion with you. We’ll have plenty of chairs.
This class on meditation is being led by Joan Cook, one of our moms who has practiced meditation for years. As you know, meditation is a practice when an individual uses a technique — such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought or activity — to train attention and awareness, and achieve a calm and stable presence. Meditation has many benefits, including reducing stress, controlling anxiety, and lengthening attention span. All you have to do is B R E A T H E.
Inhale . . . exhale . . . inhale . . . exhale.
You will go home more relaxed and equipped with some suggestions on how you can meditate at home.
