Shakespeare Visits Our Place

  • Easley Community Center 1000 Edgehill Avenue Nashville, TN 37203 (map)

The Nashville Shakespeare Festival has become one of the region’s leading professional theatres over the past 30 years.  Each summer, 12,000 – 17,000 people attend its annual Shakespeare in the Park production.  The Festival now provides arts-in-education programs in MNPS, as well as in businesses, law firms and other adult groups, providing workshops that exercise creative thinking, problem solving, and effective communication with Shakespeare’s language, characters and themes.  The Festival will be bringing Shakespeare to Our Place, letting class participants play parts in some of Shakespeare’s most well-known plays.  This will definitely be a drama-filled evening!

Class will be led by Jim Warren.  He is the Founding Artistic Director of the American Shakespeare Center, based in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.  Jim is in the middle of a two-month visit to Nashville as an official consultant to the Nashville Theatre Festival to help them strategically plan and dream their way to an even more exciting future!  Jim has produced and cast over 280 shows during his tenure at the American Shakespeare Center, and has created a touring company that has performed in 47 states and one U.S. territory.
