The Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee is hosting a webinar on the risks of Alzheimer's disease in adults with Down syndrome, along with an introduction to a new research study. The goals of the webinar are to present information on the risks, symptoms, onset, etc. of Alzheimer's in adults with Down syndrome who show biological evidence of Alzheimer's-related changes beginning by the ages of 35-55. The risk of Alzheimer's and dementia highlights the pressing need for the inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome in clinical studies for Alzheimer's disease. You will be given information on how to join a research project that aims to enroll 120 adults with Down syndrome to study several outcome measures that can be used in a future therapeutic clinical trial to reduce the risk or prevent Alzheimer's in this population. You can register for this 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm webinar here.
