Have you got green thumbs? Our Place Communities have been growing food in our community gardens together since the first house opened in 2015. Every year in the spring, our friends and students start to get excited about the idea of getting their hands dirty and planting fresh produce that can be shared among the community. To help us all on this journey, we will be visited by Jason Adkins and some of his students who study Environmental Justice at Trevecca Nazarene University. Jason runs an urban farm with vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and even chickens, goats, and pigs, and teaches his students and the community about what it means to grow your own food in an urban setting.
As Life Skills Classes transition to in person, we welcome all residents and waiting listers to participate! Transport can be provided for those living at Friendship house if you let us know in advance.
If you are not able to make it in person, we will share a stream via zoom, however we hope to have as many people in person as possible to help us form bonds of connection. The zoom version will be held at our regular zoom room. Contact Jordan Collins for the link to the zoom or with any questions you may have.
