The Disability Leadership Collaborative is an informal gathering of some 40 non-profit leaders, educators and others in the disability community who meet the third Tuesday of the month to network, share resources, and listen and talk with invited speakers.
This month’s special guest is the Commissioner of the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Brad Turner. In his role as commissioner, Mr. Turner oversees nearly 2,000 employees responsible for administration and oversight of services and supports for approximately 25,000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the home and community-based waiver programs, Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS), Katie Beckett Program, MAPs Program and Family Support Program.
The Commissioner will be telling us about accomplishments and challenges of the past year and what we should be looking forward to in the year ahead. There will be plenty of time for Q&A. If you’d like to join the Disability Leadership Collaborative, contact Carolyn Naifeh for more information. Members will be emailed a Zoom link for November’s gathering.
