Metro Parks DisABILITY: Art Classes sponsored by the Frist Center

Join MPDP and the Frist Center for a series of art classes in the theme of "Repair"! Selected artwork from these classes will be showcased in the Frist Center later this year. Please read through the descriptions to decide which class(es) you would like to attend. Classes are FREE, and participants can choose to attend just 1 class or all 3. Classes are March 20th, April 17th, and May 22nd!

MAY 22nd Class:

Lesson 3 - Alcohol Ink Tiles

The artists will be encouraged to consider the emotions different colors create. They will be asked to choose 4 colors that represent repair, healing, and comfort. Each artist will use alcohol inks in their chosen colors to create bold, abstract designs on 4 separate pieces of ceramic tile. Using a blending solution, the artists will create a blank corner on each piece. The tiles will be displayed together with the blank corners meeting in the middle, creating a sense of light bursting through the color.
