Earth Day 2019 - Living Green

  • Easley Community Center 1000 Edgehill Avenue Nashville TN 37203 (map)

What is Earth Day? What does it mean to live a bit more “green”? How hard is it to recycle if you don’t have automatic pick-up? Recycling — the process of collecting and processing materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash and turning them into new products — is one way many people reduce their carbon footprint. Recycling can benefit your community and the environment. But if you don’t have access to recycling yet, what can you do? Michelle Hamman, the Department of General Services’ Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Specialist, will be joining us to talk about basic information you can put into practice to live green, whether it’s recycling, eating a plant-based diet, planting a tree, or cleaning up the roads in your neighborhood, just to name a few. Michelle writes a blog at https://socket.nashville.gov.
