Orientation for Friendship House Residents

Our Resident Directors are planning house-specific orientations focusing on togetherness ("What does it mean and how do we practice it?"), boundaries ("Learning to Give People Space," setting personal boundaries, group texts), and housekeeping decisions (how would their lives in the FH community be better if . . . ) giving residents a chance to talk about who takes out the trash and what their desires are for communal living. Our Executive and Associate Directors, Carolyn Naifeh and Jordan Collins, will be visiting each session at each house to talk about Our Place guidelines and the need for each resident to read and sign our community covenant. Residents will talk about how their weekly communal dinners are going and other activities they'd like to plan that are house-specific until we're on the other side of the pandemic and can gather in larger groups. Friendship Houses 1, 2 and 3 are scheduled to meet October 2, while Friendship House 4 is likely meeting on October 6 to better accommodate people's schedules. Residents, please check with your Resident Director to confirm the time and exact meeting place for your Friendship House’s Orientation.
